Full Time • Brooklyn, NY

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Customized Assistance Services tracking systems streamline reporting and monitoring of programmatic and financial information and interface with existing HRA systems. This enables CAS to maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of the services it delivers and the programs it manages. It also contributes to meeting federal and state mandates and the realization of HRA’s goals of helping the people it serves reach the maximum attainable level of self-sufficiency and to fulfill the agency’s responsibilities under various city and state agreements.
 
Tasks & Duties
  • Assist in developing system design specifications 
  • Develops and prepares documents for the general design of solutions that meet system and security requirements, including the selection of alternative approaches.
  • Develops specifications for databases, communication systems, hardware, network, security, storage and software configurations.
  • Develops structured diagrams for the specifications of databases, communication systems, computer or storage area networks, security or network programs.
  • Develops, compiles, maintains and documents configurations of the following: databases, servers, computers, security and network monitor systems, packaged programs, macros, utilities, and communication systems.
  • Assist in developing system documentation
  • Develop operational and installation procedures for communication systems, hardware, network, security, storage and software.
  • Develop guidelines and upgrade techniques of new operational procedures for the support of databases, hardware systems, operating systems software, network systems software, security and client server systems.
  •             Develop detailed systems operations designs.
  • Assist in performing system design/ 
  • Work with staff (e.g, managers, senior programmers, support staff, product manager) to plan program systems implementation, enhancements and changes.
  •             Create, test and maintain program systems
  •             Design reports, audit trails/logs, security mechanisms
  • Provide assistance to technical support staff when they are unable to resolve a program, database, or IT issue by themselves
  • Occasionally contact customers as may be needed to clarify the intent of a new feature or resolve a problem
  • Provide general programming assistance to other programmers/projects as may be needed.
  • Assist in performing testing/evaluation
  •             Tests programs and systems and integrates system modules.
  •             Develops, implements, and monitors information technology quality assurance standards.
  •             Perform Integration Testing
  • Assist in managing project deliverable deadlines
  •             Follow through with consultant project staff to track deliverable status
  •             Make project plan for User acceptance testing, Unit testing
  • Identify project scope with project director
 
Requirements
A minimum of 4 years of experience with the following skill sets:
·        Writing application software, data analysis, data access
·        Data structures, data manipulation, databases, design, programming, testing and implementation
·        Technical and user documentation, software conversions
·        Exposure to environments include but are not limited to mainframe, mid range, personal computers, laptops
·        Lead in the design of program specifications and the implementation of software solutions
Comprehensive project management experience and excellent verbal/writing skills
Compensation: $60.00 per hour
